Supply Chain Materials Coordinator

Job Summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supply Chain Materials Specialist to join our Logistics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and distributing incoming medical supplies, as well as assisting with pulling cases. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong sense of time and urgency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against packing slips or other documents, reporting shortages and rejecting damaged goods
  • Promptly break down deliveries, sort and distribute supplies to the appropriate departments
  • Process surgical casework and create requisitions as needed
  • Scan and label incoming supplies
  • Pull supplies for patient case carts
  • Restock specialty supply and implant carts
  • Restock goods for the Central Supply Room
  • Rotate and check supply and implant outdates
  • Assist with bi-annual cycle/inventory counts
  • Look for opportunities to standardize supplies
  • Routinely assess opportunities to reduce supply costs
  • Train on MMIS application; complete data entry
  • Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive and respectful attitude
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities
  • Attend and participate in department meetings
  • Attend mandatory educational programs
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission, and participate in hospital-wide safety activities
  • Act as a backup to the Supply Chain Materials Specialist
  • Adjust to a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your manager
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous medical and inventory experience preferred
  • Experience inputting and retrieving data from a computer and MMIS program
Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong sense of time, urgency, and organization
  • Ability to quickly prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work with a variety of team members, including operating room staff, physicians, and vendors
  • Willingness to cross-train on all aspects of the supply chain team
