Senior Assistant Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Librarian to join our team as the Head of Learning, Research & Engagement Services. This is a tenure-track faculty position that will play a key role in advancing the library's research, instruction, and engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead comprehensive evaluation and assessment in the areas of information literacy instruction, library research services, and student learning and academic success.
- Develop strategies for embedding information literacy into the curriculum in collaboration with liaison librarians.
- Collaborate with library and campus partners to design, develop, and integrate effective and high-quality learning materials that support instruction, information literacy skills, and the use of library resources and services.
- Provide library instruction and reference/research services to students.
- Serve as liaison librarian to one or more academic departments/programs, modeling best practices and performing all the duties and functions of a liaison librarian.
- MLS/MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library institution is required at the time of application.
- Demonstrated professional library experience providing services related to teaching, learning, and research services.
- Experience providing student and/or campus engagement and outreach services.
- Knowledge of current issues and trends in library support of research, scholarship, learning, student engagement, and student academic success.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.
- Demonstrated understanding of the teaching, research, and learning process in higher education.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and experience using quantitative and/or qualitative data and methods for assessment to inform decision-making.
- Familiarity or demonstrated experience using inclusive and culturally sustaining pedagogies that engage students.
- Knowledge of instructional design theory, principles, and practices.
- Evidence of experience providing information literacy instruction grounded in information literacy standards and frameworks.
