The Safety Operations Manager will report to the Senior Safety Manager, assist the jobsite team, and ensure that Strata Clean Energy, LLC adheres to all relevant Health and Safety regulations while fostering a culture of Safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish communication channels and teams to identify and address Safety-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all client contractual obligations (Solar Safety Checklist).
  • Demonstrate commitment to all responsibilities associated with the Safety Manager role.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings (POD, client weekly/monthly, Contractor kick-off meetings, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager to develop materials, presentations, and procedures that effectively communicate the Strata Safety Program.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring to address at-risk behaviors or noncompliance issues.
  • Act as a champion for the Safety Committee.
  • Conduct regular Safety observations to identify potential errors and leading indicators.
  • Document audit findings on EHS Insight and communicate information effectively to site leadership.
  • Report all work-related incidents, Near Misses, and Good Catches.
  • Lead investigations for all work-related incidents and adhere to the reporting process.
  • Monitor project Safety Metrics, including the status of lagging indicators, and communicate effectively with project site leadership.
  • Encourage Health and Safety observations from all project team members to implement a Safety incentive program.
  • Respond to emergencies to address immediate Health, Safety, and security issues.
  • Provide guidance and support for the professional development of all assigned Safety Specialists.
  • Maintain current safety credentials.

Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in Health and Safety within the construction industry. Experience in solar is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to solar construction.
  • Proven ability to assess Health and Safety-related risks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related technical field with a minimum of seven (7) years of project experience in a construction Safety role as a designated Safety professional (required).
  • A CHST designation with at least five (5) years in a construction Safety role as a designated Safety professional.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (required).
  • Current OSHA 500 certification.
  • NFPA 70E certification (a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule (including weekends).
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations.
