Position Summary
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager will play a crucial role in the establishment and maintenance of systems that ensure compliance with all food safety and quality standards. This position is pivotal in minimizing product and process variability while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, training, and validation of quality systems.
- Oversee quality assurance programs for aseptic operations, including the creation of training materials and mentorship for quality assurance staff.
- Provide training and technical guidance to operational teams on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation, and product quality.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and corporate quality programs, participating in audits as necessary.
- Maintain open communication and foster collaboration among all departments and shifts.
- Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the development and oversight of annual quality and sanitation budgets.
- Promote the use of quality improvement methodologies and tools.
- Monitor plant sanitation programs to guarantee a safe and high-quality product supply.
- Communicate key performance indicators related to food safety and quality, leading teams in trend analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a food manufacturing setting, preferably in aseptic beverage processing.
- Completion of HACCP training.
Preferred Skills:
- Technical expertise in aseptic processes and equipment.
- Experience with microbiological testing and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with new plant startup processes and certifications such as Better Process Control School and PCQI.
