Job Overview

Position Summary:

  • The Payroll Operations Coordinator is tasked with the accurate and timely execution of payroll processes. As a key member of the finance department, this role involves delivering exceptional service to all staff and employing analytical skills to address any payroll-related concerns.

Location:

  • Olathe, KS

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma is mandatory
  • Associate's degree or higher is preferred

Experience Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential
  • Familiarity with multi-state taxation is advantageous
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements
  • Comfortable interacting with personnel at all organizational levels
  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Experience handling confidential information is crucial

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Current Auto Insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records, reports, and audits; collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations
  • Proficient in processing payroll for various divisions and capable of assisting during staffing fluctuations
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations regarding timesheet submissions
  • Execute bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule using time and pay reporting systems
  • Review and audit payroll data prior to submission to confirm accuracy of hours and deductions
  • Verify computed wages and rectify any discrepancies to ensure correct earnings
  • Review payroll taxes for accuracy based on state and local requirements
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, accounting teams, and business units; provide excellent customer service to employees with payroll inquiries
  • Resolve payroll issues across multiple business units
  • Process garnishments ensuring timely and accurate withholding and payment
  • Ensure all required taxes are set up, withheld, and paid accurately and on time
  • Safeguard client confidentiality and uphold operational integrity by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Prepare month-end reports in accordance with closing deadlines
