Position Summary:
- The Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the punctual preparation and distribution of organizational payroll. As a vital member of the finance department, the Payroll Administrator will deliver exceptional customer service to all staff and employ analytical skills to address any payroll-related concerns.
Location:
- Olathe, KS
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma is mandatory
- Associate's degree or higher is preferred
Experience Requirements:
- 1-3 years of payroll experience is required
- Proficiency in Excel is essential
- Familiarity with multi-state taxation is advantageous
- Experience with ADP payroll systems is a plus
- Strong analytical capabilities to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement necessary changes
- Comfortable interacting with personnel at all organizational levels
- Ability to foster and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Must handle confidential information with discretion
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid driver's license
- Current Auto Insurance
- Minimum age of 21 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records, reports, and audits; collaborate closely with both internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations
- Possess knowledge of processing payroll for various divisions and provide assistance during periods of staff shortages or organizational growth
- Ensure compliance with policy, contract, state, and regulatory requirements for timesheet submissions
- Execute bi-weekly payroll processing accurately and on time using time and pay reporting systems
- Review, audit, and balance payroll prior to transmission to guarantee the accuracy of time and deductions
- Examine computed wages and rectify any discrepancies to ensure correct earnings; verify payroll taxes for accuracy by state and city as applicable
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, accounting teams, and business units; provide friendly assistance to employees with payroll inquiries
- Resolve payroll issues across multiple business units
- Process garnishments and ensure timely withholding and payment
- Ensure all legally mandated taxes are accurately set up, withheld, and paid punctually, and reconciled accordingly
- Safeguard client confidentiality and protect operations by maintaining confidentiality of information; perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager
- Prepare month-end reports in accordance with closing deadlines
