Position Overview:

The Special Projects Group at The Ladders is expanding and seeks a motivated and proactive Structural Engineer to enhance our dynamic workforce. You will engage in a variety of waterfront and industrial infrastructure initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and ensuring exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Structural Design and Development:
  • Utilize your engineering knowledge on diverse projects, collaborating with teams to create inventive solutions in areas such as pile design, bulkhead walls, prestressed concrete, and seismic considerations for port developments and marine engineering.
  • Participate in projects related to waterfront infrastructure and industrial growth, applying your expertise to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Learn to evaluate risks and formulate mitigation strategies to enhance project success.
  • Gain insights into regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, including understanding relevant regulations and permitting processes.
  • Develop skills in identifying and addressing challenges through innovative problem-solving techniques, employing both traditional and contemporary engineering methods.
Project Leadership:
  • Oversee project tasks, ensuring effective coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections as required to verify adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Guide team members to foster their professional development.
Client Engagement and Service Excellence:
  • Build strong client relationships by actively understanding their needs, providing clear communication, and delivering tailored solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert insights and proactive support throughout all project phases.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • Experience in concrete, steel, and timber design.
  • Familiarity with pile design and bulkhead wall construction.
  • Knowledge of prestressed concrete and seismic design principles.
  • Understanding of relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and exceeding expectations.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional field visits.
  • May involve light lifting and navigating various terrains during site inspections.
  • Travel may be required for project sites or client meetings.
