POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently in search of a full-time Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our Sacramento, CA team. At RMA, you will have the opportunity to engage in a diverse array of intriguing projects, both in fieldwork and office settings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer at RMA, you will collaborate with lead geotechnical engineers to effectively execute geotechnical projects that meet client expectations while minimizing risks. The specific role, compensation, and responsibilities assigned will be determined by the candidate's experience level.

Under the guidance of a lead geotechnical engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing subsurface investigations.
  • Conducting engineering analyses, including but not limited to settlement, seepage, slope stability, lateral load resistance, deep foundation assessments, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformation, and site-specific seismic hazard evaluations.
  • Formulating geotechnical design-level recommendations.
  • Monitoring geotechnical construction activities.
  • Drafting geotechnical reports, correspondence, and proposals.
  • Representing RMA in team and client meetings.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline; a Master of Science (MS) in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant geotechnical experience for the project engineer role.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • A valid driving license with a clean driving record.
  • The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and walk up to 1⁄2 mile daily.
