Position Overview

The Gaming Systems Specialist I is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and fulfilling the needs of casino systems users. This role provides essential support for gaming systems and collaborates closely with the Gaming Systems Analyst II.

Supervision Structure

Reports directly to the Systems Analyst Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all Slot Maintenance Records are complete and include the correct manufacturer PAR sheets.
  • Confirms that all manufacturer PAR Sheet data is accurately entered into the slot data management system.
  • Documents and communicates all vendor support calls within a two-day timeframe, ensuring all problem resolutions are tracked and relayed effectively.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of Gaming System components and ensures optimal inventory levels are upheld.
  • Generates Monthly and Quarterly reports in compliance with NIGC standards and internal controls.
  • Monitors and ensures that all gaming interfaces are operational throughout the gaming day.
  • Performs additional related tasks as assigned.

  • Proficient in planning, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting system software, as well as installing and maintaining hardware and software.
  • Ability to identify computer issues and coordinate effective hardware and software solutions.
  • Capable of documenting ongoing work and progress.
  • Familiarity with current technological trends and developments in the field.
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate and interpret information.
  • Ability to compose technical instructions for program usage and modifications.
  • Broad knowledge of multi-user computer systems, applications, and equipment.
  • Understanding of computer security protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose hardware and software problems and communicate technical information effectively to users.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Knowledge of casino operations and related systems is essential.
  • Preferred experience in Bingo, Keno, and Poker operations.
  • Proficient in creating reports and maintaining organized files.
  • Familiarity with slot data systems operations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and other casino operating systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

  • An Associate's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with one year of administrative experience with a slot data system and one year of experience related to slots and table games systems. A combination of education and direct experience totaling four years may substitute for the required qualifications.

Licensing Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the necessary Gaming License.
  • Post-offer, pre-employment, and random drug screenings are required.

Work Environment

  • Indoor work environment.
  • 24/7 on-call availability is required.
  • Work hours may vary, including overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work long hours in high-pressure situations.
  • Exposure to potential hazards such as smoke, dust, and elevated noise levels.
  • Physical tasks may include walking, standing for extended periods, sitting, and crouching.
