Position Overview

The Gaming Systems Specialist I is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and assessing casino systems and user requirements. This role provides essential support for gaming systems and collaborates closely with the Gaming Systems Analyst II.

Supervision

This position reports to the Systems Analyst Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Slot Maintenance Records are complete and contain the correct manufacturer PAR sheets.
  • Verify that all manufacturer PAR Sheet data is accurately entered into the slot data system for every Slot Maintenance Record.
  • Document and communicate all support calls to vendors within two days of the initial contact, tracking all problem resolutions and serving as a liaison between users and vendors.
  • Maintain an inventory of all Gaming System end-user parts and components, ensuring appropriate stock levels.
  • Generate Monthly and Quarterly reports in compliance with NIGC standards and internal controls.
  • Ensure all gaming interfaces are operational throughout the gaming day.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in planning, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting system software, as well as installing and maintaining operating software and hardware.
  • Adept at identifying computer issues and coordinating hardware and software solutions.
  • Capable of documenting work progress effectively.
  • Familiar with current technological trends in the field.
  • Skilled in investigating and analyzing information to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to write clear technical instructions for program usage and modifications.
  • Knowledgeable about a wide range of multi-user computer systems and applications.
  • Understanding of computer security protocols.
  • Competent in diagnosing hardware and software problems and providing technical guidance to users.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Familiarity with casino operations and related systems.
  • Working knowledge of Bingo, Keno, and Poker is preferred.
  • Ability to create reports and maintain organized files.
  • Understanding of slot data systems operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and other current casino operating systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Required:

  • An Associate's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with one year of administrative experience with a slot data system and one year of experience related to slots and table games systems. A combination of education and direct experience totaling four years may substitute for the required qualifications.

Licensing Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary Gaming License.
  • Post-offer, pre-employment, and random drug screening will be required.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily indoors.
  • Position requires availability in a 24/7 on-call environment.
  • Work hours may vary, with potential overtime required.
  • Ability to work long hours under pressure is essential.
  • Exposure to potential hazards such as smoke, dust, and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks may involve navigating uneven surfaces and prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or crouching.
