Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to join our team at Pacifica/KPFA Radio. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our fundraising efforts, developing and implementing strategies to secure funding from various sources, and building relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans to meet KPFA's revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners to secure funding and support for KPFA's programs and services.
  • Collaborate with KPFA's management team to develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and improve fundraising efficiency.
  • Manage and oversee the development team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement techniques to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present proposals, reports, and other materials to donors and stakeholders to secure funding and support.
  • Work closely with KPFA's programming team to develop and implement fundraising strategies that align with KPFA's mission and goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising and development, with a strong understanding of donor relations and stewardship.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
