Job Title: Communications Manager

We are seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our team at Resources for Community Development (RCD).

About the Role

The Communications Manager will play a critical role in promoting RCD's mission, programs, and activities through comprehensive communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication plans to engage key stakeholders and strengthen RCD's brand.
  • Manage and update the RCD website, including pages for properties under development and career page updates.
  • Co-create and update web content, including quarterly newsletters and annual reports.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance visibility and engagement.
  • Oversee the creation of visual content, including staff photos, property photos, and event photography.
  • Assist in planning and executing events, including grand openings, groundbreakings, and our annual fundraiser.
  • Design event materials, including posters, programs, and sponsorship forms.
  • Partner with Real Estate Development (RED) to draft and send pipeline property updates.
  • Ensure RCD's branding and messaging remain consistent across all platforms and materials.
  • Support internal communications efforts, including creating bi-monthly department reports and training staff on communication protocols.
  • Support RCD's fundraising efforts by drafting communications for events and collaborating with the Director of Communications to develop a fundraising strategy.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of communications or fundraising experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to produce clear and engaging content for various audiences.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with website management (WordPress preferred) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Work Environment

RCD is currently practicing a hybrid work model, with occasional travel to off-site locations around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to sit, speak, and hear, with frequent use of a keyboard, computer monitor, and phone.

The salary range for this position is $88,200 to $92,850, based on factors including experience, qualifications, role specialization, and market conditions.
