Job Summary:

Northwest Human Services is seeking a Human Services Intern to join our team. As a Human Services Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of human services while pursuing your academic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop learning objectives with the assistance of your agency supervisor and college staff.
• Develop an awareness of the philosophy, activities, and practices of the agency.
• Develop a capacity to work with agency staff in establishing and maintaining your place in the agency.
• Develop and practice the skills necessary to work with clients served by the agency.
• Follow program outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Be an active student in a Social Services program with approved site approval and affiliation agreement/contract.

Working Conditions:

The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. The worker is exposed to infectious diseases and unpredictable behavior. TB testing and Hepatitis B testing are required due to the high risk of exposure.

Physical Demands:

The physical activity of this position may include sitting, stooping, and kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, picking, pinching, typing, and lifting. Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
