Low Voltage Systems Specialist

- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Valid driver's license for Georgia; at least one of the following:
- Georgia Low Voltage Unrestricted (LVU) Certification
- Georgia Electrical Contractor License (either Restricted or Unrestricted)
- NICET Level II (or higher) Certification in Fire Alarm Systems
- ESA Certified Fire Alarm Technician (CFAT) Level II (or higher) Certification
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in the field.
- Engagement in routine physical tasks necessary for job functions; includes walking, standing, kneeling, navigating stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 75 pounds over short distances.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency.
- Ability to safely and correctly operate all tools and equipment.
- Proficient computer skills.
Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board of Education and the Superintendent.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exhibits consistent and punctual attendance.
- Fosters positive relationships and maintains a professional image with clients, the community, and colleagues.
- Installs and services specialized equipment systems, including but not limited to fire and security alarm systems, intercoms, clocks, emergency lighting, video surveillance, sound systems, and access control systems.
- Provides on-call support 24/7 as needed.
- Accurately completes and submits all documentation for maintenance records and complies with all state and local regulations in a timely manner.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of parts on the service vehicle to address most maintenance requests efficiently. Returns any excess parts to inventory promptly.
- Ensures proper care and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment to maximize their utility.
- Plans, organizes, and executes the cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of all equipment associated with the trade.
- Initiates and completes assigned projects accurately and within established timelines.
- Interprets blueprints, schematics, and architectural plans.
- Advises on the selection of equipment and supplies for procurement.
- Immediately reports any safety concerns affecting school or employee safety to the designated administrator.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the relevant administrator.
