Job Title: Low Voltage Systems Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Low Voltage Systems Technician to join our team at Synergis. As a Low Voltage Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including audio visual and access control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage systems, including audio visual and access control systems.
  • Work with programmers to load updated control programming files and test changes as needed.
  • Escalate issues for further support through the services team members.
  • Articulate troubleshooting actions, next step actions, recommendations, and/or resolution prior to leaving the client or before the end of day site where possible.
  • Wireless, coax, ethernet, and fiber optic cable testing and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years experience installing and maintaining low voltage systems, including access control systems, audio visual systems, security systems, fire alarm systems, smart devices, and digital displays.
  • 2+ years experience supporting one or more of the following: security systems, fire alarm systems, smart devices, and digital displays.
  • Brivo Access Control experience.
  • Previous experience working with an Audio-Visual services provider.
  • Experience with and understanding of networking concepts, including IP subnetting and the OSI model, LAN/WAN/WLAN/SDWAN, and routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts, including Ohm's law.
  • Strong background in networking protocols related to IoT devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with an Audio/Visual specific services company.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with some work being performed after-hours/weekends. Travel varies between projects, but anywhere from 30% to 60%. Overnight travel in some circumstances may be required.
