About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Vice President to lead our business development and operations efforts. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for driving the overall strategy and financial success of our business, its products, and its talent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute Comprehensive Business Strategies: Create and implement business plans to drive growth, profitability, and innovation.
  • Lead and Manage High-Performing Teams: Foster a culture of excellence, motivate and develop top talent, and drive results through effective leadership.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, finance, and operations teams to drive business objectives and improve processes.
  • Develop and Manage Budgets and Financial Plans: Create and manage budgets, financial plans, and forecasts to ensure fiscal responsibility and drive business growth.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Identify and Capitalize on New Business Opportunities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Develop and Implement Effective Marketing and Sales Strategies: Create and execute marketing and sales plans to drive revenue growth and brand awareness.
  • Lead Event Planning and Execution: Oversee the planning and execution of events, including management and logistics.
  • Partner with Finance to Forecast and Contribute to Sales Reports: Collaborate with the finance team to forecast sales and contribute to weekly sales reports.
  • Lead Marketing Team Alignment: Ensure alignment on marketing strategy, budget, goals, and objectives with the marketing team.
  • Manage Events Team Leadership: Liaise with the event operations team and manage the events team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Engage with Customer Groups: Develop deep understanding of customer groups and drive community engagement.
  • Work with Marketing and Operations Leadership: Collaborate with marketing and operations leadership to deliver a rewarding event experience for attendees and sponsors.
  • Develop KPIs and Ensure Delivery Against Goals: Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to develop KPIs and ensure delivery against goals.
  • Support Sponsorship Opportunities: Support the development of new sponsorship opportunities, including experiential strategy, delivery, and monetization.
  • Support Launches, M&A, and New Products: Support the development of launches, M&A activity, divestitures, and new products.
  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Analyze and interpret data to identify required action and drive business decisions.
  • Ensure Technology Leverage: Ensure the team is leveraging technology effectively, reporting as needed, and analyzing trends.
  • Make Commercial Decisions: Make swift and meaningful commercial decisions in partnership with leadership stakeholders.
  • Strategic Internal Communication: Communicate effectively with senior colleagues, stakeholders, and teams across the organization.
  • Visible and Transparent Leadership: Demonstrate visible and transparent leadership, requiring a robust framework for recruitment and retention.
  • Leadership of Diverse Teams: Lead diverse, remote, and in-office teams to drive business results.
  • Regular and Open Communication: Foster a positive organizational culture through regular and open communication with all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 Years' Experience in Leadership: Proven experience in a leadership role within the live events industry.
  • 7+ Years' Experience Leading Dynamic Teams: Experience successfully leading dynamic and agile teams.
  • 5+ Years' Experience in Budget Creation and Management: Proven success in budget creation and effective budget management.
  • Proven Success in Matrixed Organizations: Proven success working in matrixed organizations and influencing internal stakeholders.
  • Strong Relationship Builder: Strong relationship builder internally and externally.
  • Well-Traveled and Culturally Sensitive: Well-traveled, culturally sensitive, and able to balance human factors with professional expectations.
  • Comfortable with Travel: Comfortable with traveling for work.
  • Highly Organized: Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Articulate and Responsive Communicator: Articulate and responsive in communications, eloquent in the written and spoken word.
  • Problem-Solving and Objective Leadership: Able to manage stakeholder expectations while maintaining brand and business objectives.
