Outpatient Coder Specialist

As an Outpatient Coder, you will be responsible for analyzing and coding complex outpatient records with high-level expertise in coding and documentation guidelines. You will have extensive knowledge of CPT and LCD for appropriate reimbursement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ICD-10-CM diagnostic and current procedural terminology procedural coding to maintain an accurate database and ensure accurate coding at minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
Utilize electronic medical records and computerized coding/abstracting systems to efficiently code records.
Apply Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set (UHDDS) definitions and regulatory guidelines to select diagnosis and procedures, indicating patient acuity, severity of illness, and risk of mortality.
Code using either 3M encoder or ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM book, with a focus on accurate and efficient coding practices.
Requirements:
CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P certification
Specialized training in medical terminology, ICD-10-CM Diagnosis, CPT procedure, and E/M coding
2 years of demonstrated coding experience in acute care coding with outpatient records
Working Conditions:
Medium to Heavy effort, with potential for up to 35 lbs. force
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
