Facility Biller/Coder

Job Summary:

Western CT Health Network Inc is seeking a skilled Facility Biller/Coder to join our team. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding and billing patient records for our outpatient divisions.

Responsibilities:

Translate narrative information from billing encounter forms and orders into ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes and medical supply charges.
Independently charge and code for two distinct outpatient divisions, utilizing electronic medical records and multiple systems to identify diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and medical supply charges for high-volume services.
Perform ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT-4 coding at a minimum accuracy rate of 95%.
Research and resolve charging and medical necessity edits.
Independently reconcile charges for areas of responsibility, utilizing sound judgment and knowledge of common department and hospital reference materials and Medicare guidelines.
Attend and participate in required hospital education programs to maintain and enhance coding skills and stay abreast of changes in codes, coding guidelines, and regulations.

Requirements:

3 years of experience in charge capture process or medical record review.
Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
Documented proficiency in use of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding as required by position.
Knowledge of how to accurately use ICD-10 and CPT-4 books.
Sound knowledge of basic code structure is required.
