The Woodland Job Corps Center offers students the chance to achieve their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) while receiving practical training in various fields, including Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, and Advanced Training in Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging. We also provide assistance with job placement following the completion of their educational and vocational training.

With over 2,000 staff members nationwide, we deliver academic, vocational training, and placement services to approximately 9,000 young individuals aged 16 to 24, primarily in a residential environment. Our training programs are accredited and lead to nationally recognized industry credentials.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring the availability and proper storage of food, supplies, and equipment. Assists in food preparation for meals and maintains cleanliness in all food service areas.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION
May oversee Job Corps' Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Transfers food, supplies, and equipment between storage and kitchen/cafeteria.
2. Prepares fruits and vegetables as needed.
3. Sets up and dismantles tables and chairs.
4. Cleans and stores dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
5. Sanitizes kitchen, cafeteria, and food storage areas.
6. Cleans kitchen equipment, including refrigerators, stoves, and ovens.
7. Maintains cleanliness of floors by sweeping, mopping, and waxing.
8. Properly stores trash containers.
9. Degreases and sanitizes vent screens and filters.
10. Provides excellent customer service consistently.
11. Completes tasks thoroughly, timely, and accurately.
12. Adheres to personal attendance and productivity standards.
13. Organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet goals and deadlines.
14. Applies job knowledge effectively to fulfill responsibilities.
15. Mentors and models Career Success Standards as required.
16. Ensures high-quality supervision and management of students, promoting positive behavior and accountability.
17. Strives for continuous improvement in service quality and student satisfaction.
18. Communicates ideas and information clearly and contributes to team efforts.
19. Identifies problems and evaluates solutions before taking action.
20. Collaborates with staff across departments to ensure effective service delivery.
21. Accepts direction from supervisory staff and may perform duties in other departments as needed.
22. Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Experience in food service operations is desirable. Must be able to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Must demonstrate the capability to lift up to 40 pounds and assess lifting loads to request assistance when necessary.
