Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety QA Tech to join our team at Fresh Mark, Inc. in Massillon, Ohio. As a QA Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products, adhering to internal and external customer specifications, and meeting regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control testing, including physical, analytical, and microbial testing, as well as sensory evaluation, in accordance with QA manual and procedures.
  • Conduct process checks throughout production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Coordinate with sanitation department for execution of environmental testing program and communicate test results and observations to QA management, production, and sanitation personnel.
  • Assist line technicians as required and participate in the Sample Retain Program.
  • Prepare production line QA stations and calibrate equipment for processing as needed, and generate departmental reports and consolidate QA audit reports.
  • Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies, and effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes.
  • Assist in training employees on food safety, company processes, and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities and USDA pre-shipment records.
Requirements
  • Two-year degree or certificate in food science or related subject preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years of previous Quality Assurance or related experience in the food processing facility preferred.
  • Work authorization: applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of FDA GMPs and understanding of HACCP principles.
  • Familiarity with modern food manufacturing processes and food safety systems.
