Position Overview:
The role of a Store Sales Associate is essential in providing exceptional service and support to our customers. This position involves engaging with customers, assisting them with their needs, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications outlined below represent the basic education, experience, certifications, skills, and/or abilities required for this role.
Education: High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding English to communicate effectively with customers, management, and colleagues.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Point of Sale systems and other operational software utilized by the organization.
- Accurate cash handling skills, including giving change.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions. While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands for handling or feeling, and communicate verbally. The employee frequently walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
The work environment for this position is a retail setting with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and subject to temperature changes based on weather conditions. Employees may be routinely exposed to outdoor weather. This role may be Full-Time or Part-Time and will require availability during weekends and evenings. All employees acknowledge that The Salvation Army is a religious organization and agree to uphold its mission in their role.
