Position Overview

The Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics is in search of seasoned physicians dedicated to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology. The role will be classified as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. This position will be situated at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities encompass educating medical students and residents, engaging in the Obstetric Rapid Response Team, and performing inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic surgeries. Candidates should be adept at delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to medically intricate patients. The faculty member is anticipated to contribute to the University through teaching, research, and clinical service aligned with their professional training and aspirations.

Primary clinical duties will involve participating in all clinical operations of the Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory, particularly its activities at The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospitals, Grady Memorial Hospital, and affiliated locations. The faculty member is expected to provide exceptional care to patients while enhancing access for routine obstetrical and gynecological patients within Emory's clinical practices. Participation in in-house labor and delivery call coverage and functioning as a member of the Obstetrical Rapid Response Team with the General Gynecology & Obstetrics Division is also required. Faculty members are expected to oversee mid-level providers assigned to the clinical practice location.

Faculty members are also expected to exhibit exemplary involvement in the educational aspects of the Department. This includes:

  • Delivering instructional guidance and supervision to residents and medical students in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
  • Providing lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students as needed.
  • Attending Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other departmental activities.
  • Participating in the mentorship of medical students and residents.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME obstetrics and gynecology residency.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board is required prior to employment commencement.
