I. Position Summary
Oversees the complete fleet of primary and secondary equipment within the designated area, aligning with corporate goals.

This role manages operations at multiple locations, leading a team of five technicians and overseeing 28 assets.

II. Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, an individual must effectively carry out each essential duty. Additional minor responsibilities may be assigned.


Focuses on achieving profitability within the market by efficiently managing all fleet and maintenance operations in the assigned area, which includes cost management, employee development, and maintaining high training and safety standards.


Reviews capital equipment requests in accordance with corporate guidelines and objectives.

Ensures that safe and reliable vehicles are available to fulfill operational needs.

Manages the effective use of vehicle assets.

Conducts fleet assessments to ensure maintenance standards are upheld.

Ensures that maintenance facilities are adequately staffed and that mechanics receive proper training.

Ensures effective utilization of vehicle management systems.

Adheres to and promotes Waste Management's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to foster safe and efficient operations.


Meets all financial review deadlines and corporate-directed initiatives promptly.

Assists in the budgeting process as necessary.

Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of maintenance facilities through regular inspections and preventive maintenance protocols.

Oversees departmental personnel needs, including recruitment, coaching, discipline, training, and performance evaluations.
Provides input on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

Conducts and/or participates in periodic driver/safety meetings to foster positive relationships among employees and enhance morale, productivity, and efficiency.


Delivers training and presentations as required in a constructive and professional manner.

Updates and submits necessary reports in a timely fashion.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required for this position involves managing supervisory employees.

This includes:
Direct supervision of 5 full-time employees.

A. Education and Experience

Education:

A Bachelor's degree (accredited), or alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) combined with three (3) years of relevant work experience.



Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, including supervisory experience (in addition to educational requirements).

Applicable experience may substitute for educational qualifications.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

A valid driver's license is required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
