Job Summary:

As a Cardiovascular Clinical Registered Nurse at Bryan Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals. Your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional patient experiences and contributing to the success of our cardiovascular clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide Professional Nursing Care: Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to established standards and protocols, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
2. Support Providers: Assist our providers in a primary role, coordinating and facilitating patient care and follow-up to achieve quality patient care and customer service goals.
3. Communicate Effectively: Retrieve test results, communicate with providers, and contact patients regarding abnormal results, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
4. Monitor Patient Caseload: Identify high-risk patients, ensure compliance with physician orders, and manage follow-up appointments and referrals.
5. Triage and Respond: Triage and respond to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices in a timely manner, using telephone and computer systems.
6. Prepare Electronic Health Records: Prepare EHRs for patient visits, ensuring all necessary information is in the chart prior to appointments, and documenting patient interactions, orders, results, patient questions/concerns, and medication changes in a timely manner.
7. Facilitate Patient Flow: Facilitate the flow of patients in accordance with appointment times to avoid delays for providers and undue waiting for patients.
8. Conduct New Patient History and Assessment: Conduct new patient history and assessment, reviewing established patient history updates, including pain assessment, domestic abuse review, medication reconciliation, and allergy review.
9. Educate Patients and Families: Educate patients and families about tests/procedures, results, medications, nutrition, and other health-related issues.
10. Assist with Rooming: Assist with rooming, including vital signs, patient history, preparing patients for examinations/procedures, performing EKGs, and keeping rooms stocked, clean, and ready for use.
11. Rooms Patients: Room patients via EHR status indicators for outstate clinics and enter clinical documentation, orders, and results received from clinics, as assigned.
12. Maintain Confidentiality: Comply with HIPAA and maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, staff, and providers.
13. Provide Care in a Non-Judgmental Manner: Provide care in a non-judgmental, compassionate, non-discriminatory manner, remaining sensitive to the patient's diversity, autonomy, dignity, and rights.
14. Assist with Pre-Authorizations and Release of Information: Assist patients with pre-authorizations, release of information requests, FMLA certification, and other tasks as needed.
15. Respond to Urgent/Emergent Situations: Respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations, document as necessary, and manage transfer of care.
16. Maintain Compliance with OSHA and Safety Plan: Maintain compliance with OSHA and safety plan requirements.

Requirements:

1. Graduation from an Accredited Registered Nursing Program: Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing Program is required. BSN is preferred.
2. Current Licensure as an RN in the State of Nebraska: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Nebraska is required. Minimum of one (1) year relevant nursing experience is required. Clinic and cardiovascular nursing experience is preferred.
3. Licensure as an RN in the State of Kansas: Licensure as an RN in the State of Kansas is required for nurses traveling to Kansas clinics and in other states where the nurse practices in the clinic, and/or patients, who receive care or instruction by phone, reside.
