Job Overview:
As a Patient Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for the essential task of registering and pre-registering patients to facilitate their access to medical services across various departments including clinics, laboratories, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. Your role will involve gathering demographic details, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments while adhering to regulatory standards. You will also be the first point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and directing them to the appropriate departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face registrations and pre-registrations for all patients, including those paying out-of-pocket.
  • Utilize electronic systems to confirm insurance benefits and inform patients of their financial responsibilities, including copays and coinsurance.
  • Communicate with patients via phone to collect necessary registration and billing information.
  • Assist patients with inquiries regarding their benefits and financial obligations during their visit.
  • Efficiently manage time to complete registration processes while meeting departmental productivity standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in all registrations, adhering to quality assurance protocols.
  • Stay informed about insurance requirements and provide feedback to management regarding registration processes.
  • Review assigned reports to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide assistance to customers and colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in training new staff as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including data entry and retrieval.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Training: Candidates must be available for comprehensive training sessions as part of the onboarding process.
