JOB TITLE: Patient Representative
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct oversight from the Practice Administrator and Office Supervisor.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Welcome patients upon arrival and facilitate the check-in process.
- Collect applicable co-payments from patients.
- Verify and scan photo identification and insurance documentation into the system.
- Assist with patient check-out to enhance office workflow.
- Prepare daily financial deposits.
- Compile end-of-day batch reports.
- Organize patient encounters and SOAP notes for the upcoming business day.
- Create new patient records in the SOAP system upon their arrival.
- Distribute paperwork to relevant departments through inter-office mail.
- Schedule appointments in the HST system as necessary.
- Confirm appointments for the next business day.
- Support office tasks that can be managed at the check-in desk.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly office environment.
- Ensure a tidy and organized workspace.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Arrive before the scheduled start time to prepare for patient arrivals.
- Execute all necessary office responsibilities.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma with 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with clinic policies and procedures.
- Proficient in computer systems and software applications.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
SKILLS:
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exhibit compassion and kindness towards patients in person and over the phone.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with customer service abilities.
ABILITIES:
