Position Overview

The Licensed Massage Therapist will deliver expert massage therapy services to clients, prioritizing relaxation, stress alleviation, and overall wellness. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in diverse massage techniques and a commitment to enhancing clients' health and wellness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations with clients to evaluate their medical history, current conditions, and massage therapy objectives.
  • Tailor massage treatments to meet individual client requirements, preferences, and specific areas of concern.
  • Inform clients about the advantages of massage therapy and suggest suitable treatment plans to fulfill their needs.

Massage Therapy Execution:

  • Administer a range of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and aromatherapy.
  • Utilize appropriate pressure and manipulation techniques to foster relaxation, ease muscle tension, and relieve discomfort.
  • Integrate additional modalities such as reflexology, myofascial release, or lymphatic drainage as necessary.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to stringent sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure a clean and safe massage therapy environment.
  • Implement proper sterilization protocols for massage equipment, linens, and supplies to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while maintaining high cleanliness standards in treatment areas.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain precise client records, including treatment notes, progress evaluations, and pertinent medical information.
  • Document client feedback, preferences, and treatment plans for future reference and continuity of care.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and client follow-ups in line with established procedures.

Professional Growth:

  • Pursue continuous education and training to remain informed about the latest massage therapy techniques, modalities, and industry developments.
  • Engage in workshops, seminars, and continuing education courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Obtain and uphold licensure or certification as mandated by state regulations and professional organizations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work alongside other MedSpa staff members to provide integrated wellness services and improve the overall client experience.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs, concerns, and feedback during and after therapy sessions.
  • Act as a representative for the MedSpa, promoting services and educating clients about the benefits of massage therapy.
  • Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
  • Recognize the importance of maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of the services and treatments offered at the practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Valid state license or certification as a Massage Therapist.
  • Prior experience as a Massage Therapist in a spa or wellness center.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise in various massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Dedication to maintaining a professional appearance and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
