Position Overview:
This Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) will primarily serve in our outpatient pediatric clinic and collaborate with local school systems. This role may also involve providing services at nearby skilled nursing facilities as required. We welcome applications from SLP-CFYs for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering high-quality direct speech-language therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs/504 plans.
  • Conducting evaluations and assessments, analyzing results, and drafting reports to identify strengths and challenges in speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills.
  • Creating treatment plans (IEPs/504 plans) aimed at enhancing educational outcomes.
  • Ensuring that evaluations, treatment plans, and service delivery comply with school, state, and federal regulations.
  • Guiding teachers in recognizing and referring students with suspected speech and language delays/disorders.
  • Facilitating the generalization of students' skills across various settings through collaboration with educational teams and related service providers.
  • Documenting treatment notes and progress reports promptly and in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintaining a detailed log of services provided and missed due to absences.
  • Safeguarding confidential records and providing timely reports.
  • Staying updated on best practices in speech and language therapy and language development.
  • Completing and submitting required documentation within established agency guidelines.
  • Promoting effective communication among clinicians involved in patient care.
  • Observing and evaluating the performance of assistants in the speech program and offering guidance as needed.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary patient care conferences and maintaining ongoing communication with all disciplines involved in the patient Plan of Care.
  • Interpreting and implementing Physician's orders related to Speech/Language Therapy in a professional manner, adhering to ethical standards and regulations.
  • Coordinating the speech therapy program with other relevant healthcare providers.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • License or Certification:
    Must possess a current Alabama state license by the start of employment.
    CPR certification, Auto Insurance, and Driver License required.

Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Completion of a degree from an accredited therapy program or an equivalent program recognized by a certifying agency is preferred.
  • Experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good visual acuity and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing at least 30 pounds, and assist in transferring and repositioning patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested for heavier tasks.
Additional Information:
Sign-on bonus available for SLP-CCCs committing to a two-year term.
