Fairview Health Services provides a competitive compensation package with attractive benefits, offering wages starting at $28.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience.

Additional compensation is available for evening and night shifts.

We are looking for a part-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to assist our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility (Transitional Care). This position involves delivering hands-on care and support services for our adult short-stay patients at our well-equipped care center.

This weekend support role includes:

  • 24 hours of work every two weeks
  • Part-time schedule, primarily during evening shifts
  • Includes every other weekend and holiday rotations
  • Partially Benefit Eligible: (Paid Time Off, Matching Retirement, Education Scholarships, and Early Wage Access)

  • Assist residents according to their individual care plans with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and responding to call lights.
  • May check and document vital signs as per community patient care protocols.
  • Provide morning and evening care, including personal hygiene and catheter care.
  • May assist in turning, lifting, or transferring residents with or without mechanical support.
  • Observe residents and communicate their status to the appropriate staff clearly and concisely.
  • Document care in the electronic medical record system.
  • Address resident and family concerns proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with staff during shift changes.
  • Perform additional duties such as maintaining cleanliness in rooms and work areas, reporting equipment issues, and answering phones promptly.

Requirements:

  • Active certification as a Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the appropriate registry by the start date, or candidates enrolled in a Nursing Assistant Course will be granted a 4-month period post-hire to achieve certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse geriatric population.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards residents and colleagues.
  • Experience in roles such as Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), or similar positions.
  • Background in customer service settings.
