Job Overview:
The Lead Systems Programmer is responsible for the design and development of innovative system software while also enhancing existing applications to support the technological framework and services of the Computer Science Department. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including operating system-level systems, web infrastructure, and various network services, as well as components of system administration toolchains and system-related applications.
The Lead Systems Programmer will also establish processes to automate the deployment of new, enhanced, or upgraded services utilizing configuration management and orchestration tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
- Contribute to strategic planning and establish operational standards.
- Offer training and support to enhance team capabilities.
- Collaborate on the development of system software and applications.
- Utilize configuration management tools to streamline service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant programming experience.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Strong software design, testing, and debugging abilities.
- Capability to troubleshoot system-level issues and devise effective solutions.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies as required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
