Principal Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and talented Principal Civil Engineer to join our team in Providence, RI. As a key member of our engineering team, you will lead and mentor interdisciplinary teams to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure projects in a wide range of contexts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage projects from design development to construction, ensuring high-quality deliverables and meeting client expectations.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, providing technical guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues from various disciplines to deliver projects to construction, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Participate in business development, project pursuits, and quality initiatives, contributing to the firm's growth and success.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes and firm performance.
- Professional Engineering license in RI.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 15 years of engineering experience in developing construction documents and/or public agency construction administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in a project and/or design management role.
- Broad knowledge base in civil engineering, with specific experience in roadway design, drainage design, geometric design, 3D modeling, and design of accessible public spaces.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple large/complex projects on time and on budget.
- Experience developing construction documents, preparing transportation and local agency permit documents, and managing staff.
- Proficiency in Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and design software (Civil 3D, GEOPAK or InRoads).
- Experience managing engineering projects in the Northeast and preparing proposals and scope/fees.
