Job Description

Nordson is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineering Manager to lead our team of firmware engineers in designing, developing, and troubleshooting firmware and software programs for precision fluid dispensing systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, firmware development, and team leadership. They will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing firmware and software programs for our mechatronic systems, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer requirements.

The Embedded Software Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement firmware and software solutions, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components. They will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding team members, providing technical guidance and support, and ensuring that the team is working efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, and software engineering principles. They will be able to lead a team of engineers in developing complex firmware and software programs, and will have excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of firmware engineers in designing, developing, and troubleshooting firmware and software programs.
  • Develop and implement firmware and software solutions for mechatronic systems.
  • Mentor and guide team members in firmware and software development.
  • Ensure high-quality products that meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement firmware and software solutions.

Requirements:

  • 10 years' experience in mechatronic product development, with a minimum of 3 years managing a team of more than five engineers.
  • Strong embedded SW fundamentals, including a deep understanding of design and development flows, real-time constraints, concurrency, multi-processor systems, controls theory, caching, and virtual memory.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming of microcontrollers/microprocessors and FPGA's.
  • Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, bare-metal software development, clock and power management, real-time operating systems, and communications protocols.
  • Track record of having deployed Agile/Scrum/XP development best practices.
