Retrofit Business Development Manager

Belimo is a global leader in the development, production, and marketing of field devices for energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Our core business includes damper actuators, control valves, sensors, meters, and gas monitors.

Job Summary

The Retrofit Business Development Manager is responsible for growing Belimo retrofit sales in an assigned territory, focusing on property owners and institutional customers. This role requires a strategic approach to market, including successful strategic planning, development, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create incremental demand for Belimo products through personal sales activities with targeted end users and facility management decision makers.
  • Manage sales and account management processes to qualify and establish long-term relationships with end users.
  • Collaborate with Belimo teams to identify target accounts and develop retrofit growth strategies.
  • Develop and manage a Business Development Plan (BDP) to build a tangible pipeline of sales opportunities.
  • Use available tools to demonstrate customer benefits of implementing a renewal program.
  • Support the development of training programs, support tools, and marketing collateral.
  • Build relationships with decision makers and influencers to drive the sale of Belimo Retrofit+ products.
  • Guide the Field Support organization to offer building status check-ups.
  • Maintain customer and project information using a CRM system.
  • Represent and promote Retrofit+ at trade events and facility groups.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably HVAC.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales and 3+ years in business development, strategic planning.
  • Strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and organizational, inter-personal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision to implement and achieve business goals.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and other basic computer skills.
  • A minimum of 10% travel required.
Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 annually, with a target performance bonus of 25% of an employee's annual base salary. Belimo offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other competitive benefits.
