Job Summary:
The Community Development Director will oversee the smooth delivery of community-based services and programs for several locations. This role is responsible for supervising case management staff, developing and evaluating programs and services for children and adults, and representing the organization at various events.

About FACETS:
FACETS is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping parents, children, and individuals affected by poverty in Fairfax County. We provide wrap-around services and community partnerships to ensure everyone has access to safe and stable housing.

Main Responsibilities:
This position involves:
  • Supervising Community Development Advocates to provide programming, case management, and leadership development.
  • Ensuring community case management services are delivered in designated locations, assisting staff in case analysis and referrals.
  • Establishing new services at the One University community center opening in November 2024.
  • Performing site visits with staff, including home, work, or program visits as needed.
  • Providing weekly supervision to staff and documenting performance through evaluations and as needed.
  • Planning and participating in training for team development.
  • Collaborating with the Volunteer Manager to ensure sites have necessary support.
  • Managing accurate records for the ECD program and developing budgets for all sites in collaboration with the Director of Community Development.
  • Supporting the Communications Team by providing stories and photos that demonstrate the impact of ECD Centers.
  • Assisting with grant-writing for program funding.
  • Participating in seasonal drives and fundraising events.
  • Conducting presentations on ECD programs and needs to the public.
  • Representing FACETS in the community, aligning with the Agency Mission, Vision, and Code of Ethics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field; a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience may be considered.
  • Experience providing case management services and program management, including direct supervision of program staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and an independent and creative worker.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance.
  • Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Must pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks.

FACETS offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience: $60,000 - $65,000 per year.
