QUALIFICATIONS:

- Capacity to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds regularly
REPORTS TO: School Principal.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct thorough cleaning activities including vacuuming (utilizing a 20 lb. vacuum for 3-4 hours daily), wet-mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash (lifting waste paper and debris - minimum of 55 lbs.), and cleaning chalkboards and disinfecting drinking fountains.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, including floors and all fixtures (i.e.: urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, partitions, and counters). Ensure restrooms are sanitized and tidy.
- Wash windows and sills (door glass).
- Perform routine tasks such as changing light bulbs (climbing ladders up to 16 feet), replenishing dispensers, and preparing facilities for student and adult activities (lifting furniture, boxes, and cafeteria tables - minimum of 55 lbs.).
- Carry out minor building repairs and promptly notify the Head Custodian of any major repairs needed.
- Work overtime and weekends as necessary to accommodate District events and facility schedules.
- Ensure that all doors and windows are securely locked.
- Must be able to navigate stairs frequently, as well as perform regular bending and standing as required during a daily shift.
- Assist in extensive clean-up during summer months, such as washing desks and chairs, cleaning walls, stripping and waxing floors, etc.
- Manage outdoor maintenance, including weeding, keeping grounds clear of debris, and shoveling snow from steps and sidewalks during winter while applying ice melt as needed.
- Foster a professional rapport with students, faculty, administration, and community members.
- Provide all requested data and information in a timely manner.
- Regularly check district email for important communications.
- Participate in meetings as scheduled by supervisors and District Administrators.
- Complete all required paperwork promptly.
Work is primarily performed through walking, standing, bending, or reaching and involves physical repetition. Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 10 pounds continuously, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures and weather conditions such as snow and ice. May encounter potentially hazardous substances. Flexible shift work is required, with weekend work potentially necessary. Daily interactions with teachers, students, administration, the general public, and other personnel are expected.
