Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight
  • Act as a liaison for the interests of the Commonwealth in addressing the facility requirements of various departments and programs.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders including facilities management, architectural offices, consultants, and contractors to facilitate project execution.
  • Establish and nurture essential relationships within the Commonwealth and across various departments to address facility needs effectively.
  • Evaluate project proposals and financial plans, providing recommendations in collaboration with the Director of Space Planning & Management.
  • Identify and mitigate potential challenges that could impact project outcomes.
  • Proactively suggest necessary adjustments in project scope and ensure thorough planning for amendments as needed.
  • Oversee financial management related to facility maintenance and enhancements.
Space Coordination
  • Collaborate with the Space Management Team and relevant departments to organize and monitor space allocations and utilization.
  • Assess and manage space requirements for educational, research, and administrative functions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and long-term space planning, including data analysis and modeling.
  • Assist in negotiating and implementing space assignments.
  • Design and execute phased relocation plans based on spatial requirements.
General Duties
  • Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including department heads and project teams.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and external consultants.
  • Initiate and implement process improvements related to space planning and facility management.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in planning, design, development, architecture, or historical preservation. A Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
  • Licensure: Professional registration in architecture or engineering is preferred. LEED Accreditation is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in project management, operations, logistics, construction, and facility management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, adaptability, and a commitment to innovative solutions in facility and logistics management.
  • Dedication to excellence in project delivery and customer service.

This position is primarily sedentary, involving extensive use of desktop computers, with occasional travel required to various facilities for meetings and programs.
