Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Inspector to join our expanding Environmental Division. This role will involve a variety of environmental compliance projects, with a primary focus on conducting asbestos and lead sampling, monitoring, and inspections.

Additionally, the position may require the collection of water and soil samples related to environmental compliance or remediation initiatives as necessary.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of EPA, AHERA, and OSHA regulations, along with field experience in environmental sampling, including asbestos and lead inspection and monitoring.


The selected candidate must be adaptable to diverse work environments and demonstrate excellent technical writing and organizational abilities.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must be a US Citizen.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience (preferably as an Asbestos Sampling Technician or Inspector).
Completion of EPA/AHERA or board-approved initial accredited inspector training program.
Current North Carolina State Asbestos Inspector Certification; or the ability to obtain NC certification within 1-2 years of hire.
OSHA 24-Hour or 40-Hour HAZWOPER (CFR Part Certification).

Training will be provided as necessary.
Experience at military installations is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team as required.
Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States. Overnight travel is expected to be routine (approximately 50%); however, extended travel may be necessary at times.
Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
Excellent customer service and multitasking skills are essential.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written (including technical documentation), are required.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while functioning independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant database and office automation products, including Adobe Pro.

Must be able to meet pre-employment qualifications.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Conduct sampling of regulated building materials, including indoor air quality assessments and industrial workplace evaluations;
Collect water and soil samples for environmental compliance assessments and remediation projects;
Coordinate projects with the Project Manager, other staff, subcontractors, etc.;
Perform various fieldwork tasks, such as obtaining sample media, collecting relevant data, and submitting samples for laboratory analysis, observing field conditions, and documenting events; and
Prepare project-related documentation, including chain of custody forms, proposals, cost estimates, data tables, and reports.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
