Affordable Housing Development Manager

Job Summary:
The Affordable Housing Development Manager will oversee all phases of the real estate development process, including evaluation, planning, and implementation of affordable housing development projects. This role will work closely with the Housing development team to submit grant applications, create development budgets, and manage third-party vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the requirements for NYS LIHTC and other related funding applications.
- Research and analyze development opportunities in new market areas, evaluating overall project feasibility.
- Conduct due diligence evaluations of sites, including appraisals, inspections, and environmental reviews.
- Prepare and submit funding and grant applications under the guidance of management and/or consultants.
- Develop and update financial underwriting analysis, including development and operating budgets.
- Coordinate the negotiation of major agreements and financing documents.
- Manage working relationships with lenders, syndicators, and joint venture partners.
- Obtain local municipal project approvals and assist with presentations before municipal boards.
- Coordinate project due diligence and loan and equity closings.
- Communicate and coordinate development details with construction, property management, legal, and accounting departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in affordable housing development.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Valid NYS driver's license required.
