Quality Assurance Supervisor at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Educational Background and Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in aviation sciences, quality management, or a related discipline is essential, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables successful execution of the job's core responsibilities. A minimum of 6 years of technical experience with Part 25 aircraft, adhering to a stringent quality assurance framework, is required. At least 3 years in a leadership role is necessary. Position Objective: Accountable for the implementation, oversight, and enforcement of quality policies and procedures within the Repair Station; fulfill all responsibilities of the Chief Inspector. Oversee and manage the operations and personnel involved in quality department functions to guarantee the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality products from the Repair Station. Ensure that policies, procedures, and practices align with both US and international regulatory standards to meet and maintain Repair Station business commitments.

Role Overview

Primary Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Ensure the Repair Station adheres to all relevant regulatory standards and manufacturer guidelines to guarantee that all maintenance, repair, and modification tasks are executed in compliance with applicable maintenance and regulatory requirements.
  2. May undertake one or more of the following additional responsibilities as assigned by the Repair Station General Manager: Safety Management System (SMS) coordinator; Training Coordinator; Continuous Improvement coordinator; Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) coordinator; Security coordinator; Export/Import compliance; PMA approvals.
  3. Oversee the planning and development of quality standards, methodologies, and procedures utilized by the Repair Station to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials.
  4. Establish training initiatives to continuously enhance employees' technical skills and understanding of governing procedures, regulations, and requirements. Encourage employee input and cultivate a collaborative environment with high morale.
  5. Maintain productive relationships with local regulatory bodies, OEMs, and suppliers to support the ongoing growth and effective daily operations of the Repair Station.
  6. Promote and support departmental objectives and goals. Communicate and reinforce the company values and objectives to employees, emphasizing safety.
  7. Evaluate employee performance, recognize achievements, and address disciplinary matters, resolving issues promptly.
  8. Delegate tasks to subordinate staff to fulfill company and customer requirements; recruit qualified personnel as necessary.
  9. Prepare departmental budgets and establish procedures and controls to ensure expenditures align with company guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Develop procedures for the completion, maintenance, and filing of all inspection forms and documentation utilized by the Repair Station.
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is mandatory. An A&P license coupled with 4 years of relevant quality experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
  2. Possess extensive knowledge of FAR Part 145 and related guidance materials, as well as Parts 43, 91, 121, and 135 as they pertain to work conducted under the Repair Station Certificate.
  3. Possess thorough knowledge of interpretations, applications, and procedures for completing FAA documentation, including FARs, FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars, Form 337, Form 8130-3, Form 8110, STCs, and other relevant paperwork.
  4. Advanced understanding of inspection and certification processes, a general familiarity with various aircraft, and knowledge of pertinent FARs and technical reference materials.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of quality policies, procedures, and all associated technical data.
  6. Ability to navigate various software applications utilized throughout the organization.
  7. Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
