Job OverviewThe Printer Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our printing and decorating processes. This position works closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to optimize production, maintain quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the activities of the printer/decorator beverage cans, focusing on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Spoilage.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot decorating equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the supervisor, quality control, and other departments on changes to equipment, production problems, or other related information.
- Assist in training and coaching new operators as needed.
- Apply skills and methods to improve plant production and maintain quality standards.
- Inspect products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Complete and administer necessary documentation, such as production sheets, schedules, and process control sheets.
- High School Education/GED
- 2-3 years of experience in setup/operating/adjusting printing decorators in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate, read, and understand measuring x rite color density gauge and computers
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification
- Operation of a Rutherford Printer
- Beverage Packaging industry experience
- Ink toning knowledge
- Problem-solving skills through individual and collaborative approaches
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Effective leadership skills, including conflict resolution, communication, and decision-making
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
The Printer Operator will work in a manufacturing environment, exposed to moving mechanical parts, product ink/additives, cleaning chemicals, and possible oven heat. The production noise level is frequently loud.
