JOB SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Education Assistant plays a vital role in the planning and execution of classroom activities for Head Start children.

This position requires close collaboration with the lead teacher to address the developmental needs of children and engage with families to create a supportive learning atmosphere.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in supervising children.


Oversee the planning and implementation of a program that considers the social, developmental, and health needs of the group, as well as those of individual children.

Monitor and document children's behavior and development.

Collaborate with the Group Teacher to design developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans.

Support the Group Teacher in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with families.

Engage in scheduled meetings with families, colleagues, and the interdisciplinary team of the school.

Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the above, including fulfilling program requirements.

Uphold professional and ethical standards.

Ensure confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and legal standards.

Demonstrate honesty, reliability, and dependability.

Respect and uphold the rights and privacy of all staff, parents, and children.

Attend required training sessions and meetings while seeking opportunities for professional development.

Collaborate effectively with all staff members and maintain a positive work ethic.

Act responsibly in carrying out routine tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education is required.

Experience working with families and children from birth to five years old is essential.

Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Proficient in writing with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; capable of organizing documents accurately.


Able to communicate effectively with community members, managers, regulatory agencies, and families in both individual and group settings.
