Position Overview

Salary: $70,000 to $82,000 Based on Experience

Role Summary:

The Attorney will offer legal assistance to low and middle-income clients in Family Court and Supreme Court, focusing on matrimonial disputes and various family-related issues across multiple counties, with a special emphasis on supporting victims of domestic violence. This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering high-quality civil legal services to underserved populations. Responsibilities include direct representation, legal advice, community engagement, education, and training.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (Candidates who are admitted to the NYS Bar; and those who have obtained their JD and qualify for a judicial practice order are encouraged to apply)
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively
  • Empathetic and respectful approach towards clients
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues and community partners
  • Access to reliable transportation
