Job Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Civil Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Office of Energy Projects, you will be responsible for leading a team of civil engineers and overseeing the safety and inspection program.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of civil engineers in a manner that exemplifies and promotes effective leadership behaviors.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and oversee construction and operation inspections of licensed hydroelectric projects.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and external parties to promote the goals and mission of the safety and inspection program.
  • Review and make recommendations on dam safety engineering reports.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • A background investigation is required.
  • Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. This includes experience performing dam safety inspections and conducting engineering analyses of dams.

Volunteer work and experience gained through National Service programs can be credited towards the required experience.

Education

This position requires an education degree. You must submit transcripts to be considered for this position.
