Job Title: Associate Civil Engineer/Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Civil Engineer/Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at the City of Hanford, CA.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and preparing plans and specifications for various capital improvement projects, administering development project contracts, and coordinating project meetings. They will also be responsible for preparing reports, agendas, correspondence, and research of standard scope requiring knowledge of standard principles and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and prepare plans and specifications for various capital improvement projects.
  • Administer development project contracts and coordinate project meetings.
  • Prepare reports, agendas, correspondence, and research of standard scope.
  • Coordinate and direct the work of professional service and construction contractors, other public agencies, and utilities.
  • Prepare final reports and estimates.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Two years of responsible experience similar to Assistant Engineer with the City of Hanford.
  • Possession of a California Certificate of Registration as a professional civil engineer.
  • Experience using Bluebeam, GIS, AutoCAD/Civl3D, and/or other Civil Engineering related software highly desirable.

  • Deferred Compensation / Employer Match : Employees covered under the G.E.M.A. MOUs are eligible to receive matched employer contributions for deferred compensation up to $75.00 per pay period for the term of the MOU.
