About the Position

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing designs for projects affected by waves, harbor oscillations, erosion, inlet stability, navigation channels, and project maintenance, shoaling, and coastal flooding.

Responsibilities
  • Developing designs for projects affected by coastal processes
  • Establishing the physical parameters of baseline coastal processes
  • Data gathering, preparing cost estimates, generating plans and specifications, preparing designs, preparing design proposals, reviewing work performed by A-E consultants
  • Participating in public meetings
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Professional registration or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico
  • Experience in civil engineering, coastal engineering, or a related field
Specialized Experience
  • GS-07: One year of specialized experience in assisting with the planning, developing, and analyzing civil engineering drawings and specifications
  • GS-09: One year of specialized experience in assisting with the planning, developing, and analyzing civil engineering drawings and specifications in the coastal engineering field
  • GS-11: One year of specialized experience in planning, developing, and analyzing civil engineering drawings and specifications in the coastal engineering field and resolving design-related problems
  • GS-12: One year of specialized experience in developing design analysis to formulate and evaluate coastal processes and preparing design proposals
Education
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to civil engineering
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field related to civil engineering
