About the Position

This is a challenging opportunity to join the US Army Corps of Engineers as a General Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing specifications for various projects, including clinics, hospitals, administrative buildings, and flood control projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure that specifications meet project requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate various specifications practices, conditions, and situations to improve the development, deployment, and maintenance of SpecsIntact and other automated specifications systems.
  • Provide professional consulting services and instructions to in-house and Architectural-Engineering (A-E) design teams on methodologies and technical features to consider when preparing specifications.
  • Determine the appropriate RFP format, including design-build, bid and build, or other variations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: One year of specialized experience in applying professional civil, geotechnical, geologic engineering skills related to soil mechanics, foundations, earth and rock fill dams.

  • Selective Placement Factor: Possession of a current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by any State in the United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico upon entry.
