About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Principal Water Resources Engineer to join our team in San Diego, California. As a key member of our water resources team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating technical expertise for mid-to-large-size projects, including dams, reservoirs, levees, canals, tunnels, pipelines, flood protection systems, and conveyance facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and provide technical expertise for mid-to-large-size projects
  • Lead technical client relationships and play a major role in selling
  • Lead discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise
  • Lead technical business development work
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
  • Approve and sign off on work
  • Leader in one or more areas of technology
  • Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 20+ years of relevant civil/geotechnical engineering experience
  • Experience performing civil/geotechnical design for water resources projects
  • Project management experience
  • Active California PE License or Geotechnical GE License
