Job Summary

The Department of Water Resources is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer to lead complex assignments related to the administration of power purchase agreements, evaluation of investment opportunities, and monitoring of integrated resource plans. The successful candidate will possess a unique blend of technical knowledge and skills, with the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including state agencies, utilities, and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assignments related to the administration of power purchase agreements, including evaluation of contract terms and conditions.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities in the hydroelectric power sector, including feasibility studies and financial analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze integrated resource plans, including renewable energy policy and greenhouse gas reduction goals.
  • Coordinate with state agencies, utilities, and industry partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of hydroelectric power generation and transmission.
Requirements
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hydroelectric power generation and transmission.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
