ROLE OVERVIEW: The Lead Field Service Engineer - Industrial Equipment is tasked with initiating and executing field service operations at client locations in a safe and efficient manner. This role encompasses proactive system diagnostics, working with mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, managing parts inventory, and identifying and rectifying safety concerns (for both Company and Customer-owned equipment). This position involves direct interaction with clients and may require work across multiple systems, locations, and customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty:

  • Travel within the Central Region - foster and maintain a safe working environment and culture within the organization.
  • Conduct field service activities at customer sites, including maintenance, setup, and removal of equipment.
  • Exhibit a high-impact culture through innovation, accountability, and empowerment.
  • Function effectively in a team setting.
  • Operate with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a CDL A or B is advantageous.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Some travel is necessary, ranging from 20%-80% depending on division and location (including overnight stays away from home).

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Driver Disclosure and Release
  • FMCSA Certificate of Awareness
  • Driver Certificate of Violations
  • Driver Statement of On Duty Hours Road Test
  • DOT Medical Certificate

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent. Capability to obtain a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to secure all necessary customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical card.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Preferred work experience in servicing and repairing industrial equipment, particularly in industrial or commercial process water.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred skills in electrical, mechanical, and diesel systems.
  • Knowledge of HDPE fusion is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and provide coaching/training to entry-level technicians.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: In this role, the working environment may include frequent outdoor activities, exposure to weather extremes, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and potential exposure to hazardous materials and loud noise. Physical demands may include regular sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Additionally, this role may involve travel requirements and may necessitate working on weekends, nights, or being on-call as a regular part of the job.

SALARY: The starting pay is contingent upon various factors, including skills, experience, and work location, and is typically not at the top of the range.
