Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions Coordinator to join our team at Dallas County. As a key member of our juvenile services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient intake of youths into our detention center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process youths brought to the detention center, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Respond to calls and visitors to youths, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare authorized releases and supervise youths during the intake process.
  • Provide security control to the facility, ensuring the safety of all individuals.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient intake process.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Three years of work-related experience or 45 hours of college credit in a related field.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires working with juveniles who may have committed dangerous or aggressive acts. The successful candidate will possess a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding and stressful work environment.

The employee may be transferred to another department, shift, location, or facility based on the needs of the Department. Working in a 24-hour facility may make the employee subject to working mandatory overtime or remaining on duty and working all or part of an additional shift.
